Yes , if the problem is deep rooted. It is not ayurveda that is slow, it is the depth /chronicity of the disease that determines the time taken. It is easy to uproot a small herb, but it takes a lot of time and effort to uproot a tree!

Anabolic Steroids, commonly called Steroids, were discovered in 1930 AD. All the Ayurvedic medical texts ( Samhitas) were written at least 1000 years before the discovery of Steroids.

An Ayurvedic Vaidya, has no use , no textual reference and no necessity to prescribe or add Steroid to our preparations. If quacks do, they are not Ayurvedic Vaidyas.
Unfounded allegations from Pseudo scientific community about the presence of Steroids i ayurvedic products , stem from a complete lack of knowledge of ayurvedic medicines and prejudice.

Of course not. Ayurvedic medicines in most cases are made out of herbs. There is no requirement to add non herbal formulations in 90% of the cases visiting our clinic.

Yes, in some cases we use non herbal products also. They range from natural Iron to coral powder to sea shells to naturally occurring mountain exudates called Shilajit. And even gold!

Lead, Mercury are also used in Ayurveda, but are used very rarely in severe conditions . When we use lead, mercury and others it undergoes a complex process of Shodhana ( Purification) and Bhasmikarana ( reducing the particle size). By subjecting them to these processes we ensure that the product is absolutely safe. It comes from certified companies and every single batch i subjected to safety studies. And remember, there is a big difference between Lead and Nag bhasma. Lead is unsafe. Naga bhasma is safe!

Some unproven media reports of Ayurvedic herbs having heavy metals are doing the rounds which is absolutely baseless. It is in fact the agricultural industry using unscientific methods o pest control and fertilisation that makes the soil have dangerously high levels of heavy metals.
And that can transfer to herbs as well, because they are grown in the same soil.
